Young Canadian on her experience as intern at the Weitz Center
Sarah Sklash, a young Canadian economist from the University of Western Ontario, is participating in an internship program at the Weitz Center for Development Studies. In an interview published on the website of Young Judea’s Wujs, the organization that brought her to Israel, she gave insight into her experience:
What responsibilities will you have during this internship?
I will be assisting the Center with their marketing missions and conducting research and analysis to align the Center's initiatives with that of international organizations, such as the United Nations.
What are your goals for this internship program?
I hope to gain professional experience in a development agency and to strengthen my connection to Israel.
Have you had any difficulty settling in?
Several days in a row, on my way to work, I bumped into the same guy and asked him for directions. I think my first morning I had to ask 5 people to direct me, and now I can do it all on my own!
What did your friends say when you told them about your plan to come to Israel?
They said they will come visit and that they are jealous!
