TRAINING PROGRAM - 2013

Dear Colleagues and Weitz Center Graduates,

We have the pleasure to introduce the list of our planned training activities for 2013.

Our activities for 2013 consist of long one month trainings which are sponsored by the Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV), Ministry of Foreign affairs of Israel and our shorter one week executive professional tours.

MASHAV sponsored courses are targeted for mid ranking professionals who can take the time for an extensive and in-depth one month training which includes class work and workshops. Please find below the topics for the 2013 courses.

Professional Tours are targeted for executives, as we are aware they have time limitations and can not travel for a whole month. We have therefore designed executive one week professional tours. These are mainly in the field, being exposed onsite to the latest technologies and meet directly with high ranking officials. Professional tours are at the participants own cost and are not subsidized by Mashav. The professional coordination of the tour and program design is sponsored by the Weitz Center. Cost of the tour is for the accommodation, food and transport.

Candidates that have not been accepted to the Mashav courses due to high demand (regretfully we receive over 100 applications from around the world and can only award 30 scholarships per course) are invited to participate in our professional tours.

Please feel free to circulate our program between your colleagues and interested parties.

The Weitz Center can also design tailor made professional tours on topics that are not listed here.

We look forward to receiving your applications.

Regards,

Adi Dishon
Managing Director

7 days Professional Tours

Organizations and governments benefit from the development of tailor-made professional tours that are developed in close cooperation with the client to meet specific objectives. These tours allow for a condensed study program (7-10 days) for decision-makers, officials and executives that are exposed to key highlights of the Israeli development experience in areas such as local economic development, municipal management, tourism, agriculture, rural development, sustainable development, innovations in the fields of environment and alternative energy and more.
The professional tours permit participants to meet with decision makers in Israel, as well as experts from public and private sectors.

An instructive "laboratory" for today's development professionals, Israel’s rapid pace of development in less than six decades has generated best practices and lessons learned that can benefit developing countries undergoing similar processes. A young nation and a major player in today’s economy, Israel provides an applicable context for development training, and is strategically located at the crossroads between Africa and Asia.

The professional tours are tailor-made for Governments, Development Agencies, Municipalities, Private Companies, Consultants and NGOs.
