Delivering value through high quality services

The Weitz Center accelerates multi-dimensional processes of regional and local development through its top-notch
                        training, consulting and research services.

                        Demand-Driven Training
We build the capacity of professionals and public officials from developing countries through our courses, study visits and on-site training activities. Over 4,000 participants from 80 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the
Caribbean, the Pacific Islands, Middle East and Europe have graduated from the Center's courses and training activities.  We work closely with governments, private corporations, international agencies and civil society organizations in order to develop tailored training programs based on client needs and global best practices. Our staff, comprised of senior leaders and practitioners with experience in the field, has accumulated a wealth of knowledge both in Israel and from across the developing world. Our training activities adopt a participatory, practical approach, with a focus on achieving optimal results for training investments.

We offer a range of training services to help professionals and organizations improve development performance:

                        International Training Courses:
Several courses are conducted on a yearly basis at the Weitz Center premises in Rehovot, Israel in cooperation with the Center for International Cooperation of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MASHAV). Participants engage in a hands-on, intensive learning experience for an average of 25 days, benefiting from instructive experience gained by Israeli institutions and professionals through lectures, site visits and interactive sessions. Courses combine theoretical concepts with practical methodologies and tools to address key topics such as income-generation, poverty reduction, clean energy and local economic development.  All topics are examined through an interdisciplinary approach, bringing together professionals from diverse fields such as agriculture, economy, sociology, environmental studies, and more.

                        Study Visits:
Organizations and governments benefit from the development of tailor-made study visits that are developed in close cooperation with the client to meet specific objectives. These visits allow for a condensed study program (7-10 days) for decision-makers, officials and executives that are exposed to key highlights of the Israeli development experience in areas such as local economic development, municipal management, tourism, agriculture, rural development, sustainable development, innovations in the fields of environment and alternative energy and more.

                        On-Site Courses:
Training courses are also conducted on-site in the countries of requesting organizations.  Weitz Center experts conduct up to two weeks of training activities on a wide range of topics, reaching large numbers of professionals that benefit from in-country capacity building activities.

                        Strategic Development Planning & Consulting
Managing with a clear vision and comprehensive strategy produces effective and enduring outcomes. The Weitz Center has extensive experience in supporting and facilitating local and regional strategic planning processes, having provided consulting and technical assistance services to over 70 projects in over 30 countries worldwide. The Center works with partners and stakeholders to create sustainable platforms, mechanisms and tools for implementing multisectoral strategic planning programs.  Our innovative strategic planning approaches create shared vision and strategy that mobilizes organizations to achieve concrete development results.

pressing issues of sustainable development.  We conduct applied-research on specific challenges encountered in
the field, commissioned by relevant authorities that seek to explore sustainable solutions.
