International training course on "Sustainable Urban Regeneration", 11-17.11.2011
The international training course on "Sustainable Urban Regeneration" was jointly organized by International Urban Training Center (IUTC), UN-Habitat and the Weitz Center for Development Studies from 11 to 17.11.2011 in Ganwoo province, South Korea.
21 participants from Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Lao, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Vietnam attended the training.
Participants benefited from the wide experience of Prof. Kim Kwi Gon from IUTC, as well as other Korean professionals, from Dr. Daphne Gondhalekar from ZEF, the University of Bonn in Germany and Urban Environment Group (URBEN), as well as Mr. Yossi Offer and Mr. Yoel Siegel from the Weitz Center. Field visits were also organized to illustrate the Korean experience.
This excellent training program is a step further in our continuous cooperation with IUTC. It follows another training program which took place last year, as well as the participation of Prof. Kim as a keynote speaker in the Rehovot Conference 2010.
